Workplace Stress is bad for business and bad for people and it's on the rise.
Business Mentality in association with Vanderpump & Sykes Solicitors present practical solutions for addressing workplace stress in a ground breaking event to be held at the renowned Royal Chace Hotel, Enfield on September 24th 2008.
'Workplace Stress - The Business Case for Action' aims to provide constructive advice to business owners and managers on preventing £1000's of lost revenue and lost productivity each year. With the credit crunch an ever present feature and businesses increasingly vulnerable, this timely event heralds a practical approach to tackling the complex problem of workplace stress.
A dynamic array of guest speakers, from Business Mentality, Vanderpump & Sykes Solicitors, Acas, the HSE and the NHS, will share their expertise in addressing a plethora of issues including implementing legal policies, managing change and conflict, sickness absence and stress risk assessments.
‘‘Millions of working days are lost to stress related illness each year and this comes with a huge cost to both personal wellbeing and company productivity. Business Mentality is delighted to be working in collaboration with Vanderpump & Sykes to help address these issues". Sue Temple, Business Mentality & Director of Open Mind Consultancy
"Too often, issues around mental health remain hidden both for employers and employees. Managers' lack of information and inability to offer employees appropriate help can wrongly be perceived by staff as a lack of sympathy. This can lead employees to hide their problems and take sick leave instead of addressing the issues. We hope that through this project employers and managers will be better able to support staff and so reduce levels of absenteeism. This will lead ultimately to improved productivity and raised staff morale"‘. Brendan McLoughlin, Business Mentality Project Supervisor
"Vanderpump & Sykes are excited to be working with Business Mentality and their partners. 'Workplace Stress - The Business Case for Action' presents us with a unique opportunity to inform the business community of their obligations and responsibilities relating to stress at work". Richard Stephens, Partner (Employment)
